The annual inflation rate in Poland accelerated to 16.1% in August of 2022, the highest in 26 years, and well above forecasts of 15.4%, a preliminary estimate showed. Contributing to the upward pressure were prices of electricity, gas and other fuels (40.3%), fuels for personal transport equipment (23.3% ), but also from food and non-alcoholic beverages (17.4%).
